A family-run business that’s 100% Canadian and Métis owned, the collection focuses on functionality and skin protection.

Founder and owner, Michael McIntaggart, is a professional barber from Georgian Bay who started mixing formulas in his basement. He was determined to create functional and nourishing products after being disappointed with the products that were being offered. 

Combining purpose and pleasure, the Historic Brands Product line uses natural potassium alum and glycerin as the base of most of its formulas. This ensures skin stays protected during while shaving and keeps it hydrated.

Oak Aged Barrel Aftershaves 

Their signature product – aftershaves aged in charred oak barrels – add uniqueness to each product, with one batch taking months to produce. During the maturing process, the aromatic compounds are infused with properties of the toasted barrel staves to mellow the fragrances and oils, emphasizing the natural aromas

Available in four of its signature fragrances – Embargo Blend, Georgian Bay Rum, Italian Soda, and Cerf Rouge – it has become a staple in barber shops across the country! 

Along with its Aged Aftershave, Historic Brands offers Recovery Balm, Beard Balm, Beard Oil, and Beard Wash, formulated with equally nourishing ingredients and available with the same great fragrances.
