Gulf Livery and McLaren History
Famous for its blue and orange colours, the Gulf Livery first debuted in 1923 at the 24 Heures du Mans endurance race in France. They have appear on several car models including the Mirage-Ford, Porsche, and most notably the McLaren.
McLaren partnered with Gulf Oil International in 1968 to sponsor the British in the Can-Am, IndyCar and Formula 1. This partnership lasted until the mid 1974 and was revived in 1995 until 1997 with more than 40 victories recorded.

The McLaren-Gulf partnership reemerged in 2020 with Gulf becoming the a strategic partner of McLaren. Gulf would also become the official fuel and lubricant supplier to McLaren Automotive.
