Safety Razors
Traveling with a safety razor doesn’t have to be uncomfortable. Detachable and portable razors, or ‘travel razors’, are extremely popular because of their small size and compact nature. They offer a great shave and often come with travel cases for easy storage. A slight downfall of the travel razor is it’ size; it is much smaller and may not provide the closest shave that you’re used to. They also tend to be light, which can be disappointing if you’re used to shaving with a heavy razor.
If you prefer traveling with your full-size razor, a great way around this issue can be pairing it with a razor travel case or a simple leather head cover. Either option will protect the blade and prevent it from coming into contact with other materials or soaps.

You’ll also want to pack a few extra blades. Those that are packaged in plastic containersand come with a disposal area on the back (like the Feathers) are the preferred choice. If traveling by air, it’s always a good idea to check passenger airport guidelines, as most don’t allow blades in carry-on luggage. To be on the safe side, we suggest putting blades in your checked baggage or be prepared to buy some when you arrive at your destination.
Brushes

We like soaps that come in tubs with screw top lids. This easy packaging allows brushes to be loaded in the tub and then lathered in your hands or on your face.
If you’re not sold on tubs, we also suggest soap and cream tubes. With tubes, cream is easily squeezed onto brushes or into hands and can be easily lathered. Their small size also makes them ideal for carry-on luggage (under 100 ml).
Aftershaves and Colognes
Travel-size cologne bottles will help avoid hassles going through security.
No shaving routine is complete without the use of aftershave or cologne. Depending on the nature of your trip, it might be best to avoid alcohol based aftershaves if traveling by air. Travel size aftershave and colognes or roll-on colognes come in convenient travel bottles and are perfect for those on-the-go. To eliminate the risk of bottles breaking, we advise purchasing products in plastics bottles when available.
Aftershave creams and balms are an excellent alternative to aftershaves and colognes. Most contain hydrating natural ingredients that moisturize and protect your skin. Generally, they are mildly scented and won’t be too overpowering.
Protecting your equipment
