A few simple cleaning and care tips will do wonders to preserve your hairbrush. Whether using a hairbrush with natural or synthetic bristles, including boar or wood, follow the tips below to keep your brush clean and free of debris.

Regular cleaning to remove buildup should be done with all brushes. You can use a smaller comb (or even you fingers) to pull hair and debris out of your brush. The brush cleaning tools make it easier and more efficient to rid your brush of unwanted buildup.

Cleaning Your Hairbrush

Once you’ve removed all, or most, of the buildup, you can lightly was your bristles and brush base. 

  1. Using warm water with gentle or natural soap or shampoo, gently dip the bristles into the soapy water. 
  2. Allow bristles to sit in water for a few second before removing and shake off any excess water. 
  3. Place the brush with bristles face down and allow to airdry. 

NOTE: Do not soak the bristles or brush handle in water. Lightly dip the bristles so the water just touches the bristle pad.
