Shipping and Billing Addresses Explained

April 20th, 2010 § 0

I assume the shipping address is where I’ll receive my order, but why do you require a billing address? Will you send my invoice there separately?

Getting a correct billing address is an essential part of processing your order and clearing your payment with your bank. The billing address is the address on file with your financial institution, and it should be entered in exactly the same way it appears on your credit card records or statement, including your name and last name. It is part of the process to identify that you are the lawful owner of the credit card being used.

You can then specify a shipping address, if this is different from your billing address. This will be the address where you would like to receive your merchandise. The invoice for your order is always included with your purchase and ships together inside the same box. No duplicate invoice will be sent to your billing address.

Shipping Costs to my Area

April 20th, 2010 § 0

I’m thinking about placing an order, but first I would like to know how much the shipping will be. Can you give me a quote over the phone or by e-mail?

The fastest and easiest way to find out the shipping rates to your location is to add the items you wish to purchase to your shopping cart and proceeding to the check-out page. Shipping costs will then be calculated automatically by Canada Post software depending on your postal code and the weight of the package. No payment information is required to get a quote. We don’t provide phone or e-mail quotes, since these run the risk of not being as accurate.

Fendrihan Store Showroom

Do you have a physical location where I can shop or sample your products?

Fendrihan is an online-only store. As such we don’t have a showroom or brick-and-mortar store where you can browse or shop. Nevertheless, you’ll find that our shipping costs for the GTA and nearby areas are very reasonable and range from $5 to $7 depending on the size of your order.

Choosing a Double-Edge Blade

April 19th, 2010 § 0

What brand or brands make good starter safety blades? Is there an absolute best, or is it all just a matter of preference? Do the double-edge razors you sell come with blades or would I need to buy a sample pack of blades to get started?

Double-edge blades are usually not included with safety razors, they have to be purchased separately. What kind and brand of double-edge blade you ultimately choose depends greatly on preference. No matter how popular a brand is, there’s no guarantee it’ll be right for you. Therefore, it is usually unwise to buy a large pack of safety blades without trying them out first.

We recommend a blade sampler with at least five types of blades so you can decide which one works best for you.

Shaving 101 has a great article rating different double-edge blade brands. You can find it here.

Safety Razors: Adjustable vs. Non-Adjustable

April 19th, 2010 § 0

I’m new to wet-shaving. What kind of double-edge safety razor would work better for me: adjustable or fixed-head?

This is a common question with new wet-shavers, and we always recommend to start with a non-adjustable razor. Fixed-head safety razors are well-suited for beginners since they eliminate the adjustability factor and allow you to concentrate on what is important, your technique. It may be a while until you consider switching to an adjustable double-edge, if at all. You might end up discovering you don’t need one at all.

As for what model and brand to choose, you can’t go wrong giving Merkur 38C a try.  This safety razor has garnered its popularity for its great construction and ease of use.

RazoRock Alum Block

April 16th, 2010 § 0

When it comes to purity in shaving treatments, alum blocks are next to holiness. We just introduced the RazoRock alum block to our store and the response has been overwhelming. The reasons behind it might not only be that it is hard to find such a hard-working, honest and simple product, but in the case of RazoRock the practical applicator and travel case just make it indispensable at home or away. It is also an incredible value when compared to any other alum block in the market.

Shaving 101 has done an in-depth review of RazoRock, calling it “the ultimate aftershave”. You can check it out here.
