Celebrated on January 23rd, National Handwriting Day is more than just a fun theme day. It falls on John Hancock’s birthday, the first person to sign the Declaration of Independence and to popularize the modern signature. Started by the Writing Instrument Manufacturers Association in 1977, the holiday is meant to recognize the importance of penmanship and writing.
Fun Fact: Hancock’s signature is so well-recognized that many use the term “signature” and “John Hancock” interchangeably.

How to Celebrate
What’s the best way to celebrate the holiday? Writing of course!
